Message from the Festival Manager
Welcome to 2010 Cambodian Youth Arts Festival!
It is my great pleasure to present the 5th celebration of the Cambodian Youth Arts Festival, formerly known as “Mohaosrop Silapak Khmer Amatak.” It is the very first time that the festival is held in Phnom Penh.
The Cambodian Youth Arts Festival will unite masters, teachers, and students of Cambodian arts as well as youth, international artists and arts organizations from different places throughout Cambodia and the world. At the festival they will exchange their skills in teaching, performing and promoting their art form.
The Festival nurtures partnerships and networking among different organizations, encourages leadership development among artists and creates awareness of traditional culture among Cambodians and the world. In doing so, the Festival is contributing to the re-birth of this country through its resilient arts and culture.
It is also my great honor to be involved in organizing the 2010 Cambodian Youth Arts Festival. On behalf of all organizers, I would like to convey my profound thanks to all Cambodian and international artists and arts organizations for working closely together to celebrate this huge arts Festival and especially to those who sent their staff to help with planning and organizing. I would also like to express my gratitude to the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts for their warmest collaboration and support of the Festival.
I appreciate the efforts of all the organizing committees, the Artistic Committee, Logistics Committee, PR & Media Committee and Program Committee. Without your strong commitment and great teamwork, this Festival would not be happening.
Our work together to organize and celebrate this Festival reflects our shared commitment in building a bridge from one generation to
another through the arts and our vision of making Cambodia a Kingdom of arts and culture.
I wish to thank all of the partners, sponsors, donors, friends, volunteers and artists for making this Festival a success. I hope you enjoy your participation in the Cambodian Youth Arts Festival!
